Anne Tyrrell — Principal

Anne Tyrrell has held senior level communications positions in both the private and public sectors and has worked for public affairs agencies and as an in-house corporate communications officer. She has extensive experience developing and executing strategic communications programs to achieve complex communications goals.

Anne manages the day-to-day communications activities for clients involved in litigation, regulatory uncertainty and other high stakes issues. Her focus is on building and protecting reputations by providing clients with strategic counsel, media relations, writing services and coalition management.

Prior to launching Ancora Strategies, Anne served as a senior vice president in the Washington, D.C. offices of multiple leading public affairs firms where she managed communications campaigns for corporations, law firms, trade associations, coalitions, foreign governments and non-profits.

Earlier in her career, Anne was the sole in-house public affairs, public relations and communications officer for a major defense contractor. She served as the company’s primary spokesperson, designed and executed all public and internal communications and directed all rapid response and crisis communications efforts.

She has also worked on Capitol Hill as a communications director and at a boutique firm in Alexandria, Virginia.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and journalism from Indiana University.
